Meg Vanderbrook Bankston is a seasoned public policy professional with 19 years of experience in state and federal government, specializing in local government and coastal policy. She has served in key roles on Capitol Hill and in the administrations of Louisiana Governors Bobby Jindal and John Bel Edwards.
During her tenure in both administrations, Meg served in several positions, most notably as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities, where she worked closely with local governments, state agencies, and federal partners to advance coastal policy and secure critical funding for resilience projects. She later served as Assistant Legislative Director for Governor John Bel Edwards, where she oversaw the Louisiana State Senate and managed an energy portfolio, working on key legislative initiatives related to energy, natural resources and infrastructure. Her leadership in these areas continue to drive collaboration and policy advancements that support coastal resilience, community development, and sustainable funding for local infrastructure.
